About Me

Hi, I’m Alyssa, a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, mama, wife, and founder of Ember & Oak Concierge. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to children - I find their joy contagious and their resiliency remarkable.


I’ve spent over 15 years in pediatrics, with most of my career devoted to pediatric hematology and oncology, walking beside children and families through some of their most vulnerable moments. That experience shaped my heart and deepened my belief that healthcare should feel personal, grounded, and empowering.


After becoming a mom, I understood more than ever how important it is for families to feel seen, supported, and informed in their health journey. That’s why I created Ember & Oak, a concierge practice offering compassionate, family centered care for children, adolescents and young adults.

My intention is to kindle connection, trust, and peace of mind for every family I serve. Whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, managing chronic conditions, or simply seeking a thoughtful approach to wellness, I’m here to guide and support you.


When I’m not caring for patients, you’ll find me spending time outdoors with my husband, our little boy, and our miniature dachshund. I believe that nature, laughter, and love are some of the best medicines.

At Ember & Oak, our membership works a little differently. There are no monthly or yearly fees, just genuine, personalized care when you need it. We start with an initial visit, where we take time to truly get to know one another. I’ll review your health history, but just as importantly, I want to understand your family - your parenting style, your beliefs, your preferences, and your hopes for your own or your family's well-being.


My goal is simple: I want to know you or your child before they’re ever sick. Because building that relationship early allows me to better understand their unique needs, personality, and what “healthy” looks like for them and you.


After our first visit, we move forward based on what feels right for your family, whether that’s scheduling follow-ups as needed, or creating a personalized care plan together.

About Ember & Oak

Our Approach

Caring for children and their families has never been something I’ve had to learn to love, it’s always been woven into who I am. Kids and babies are my favorite people; they’re honest, curious, and full of light. Working with them fills my cup in a way nothing else can. 


Over the years, I’ve been lucky to form strong, lasting relationships with my patients and their families. They know I see them, that I listen deeply, without judgment - and that I’ll always be honest, even if that means helping them find another provider who can better meet their needs. That kind of trust is sacred to me.


My greatest strength lies in assessment. This is where my attention to detail (and a dash of OCD) truly shines. I’m skilled at noticing the small things...the subtle changes and quiet clues that can lead to earlier interventions and more individualized plans of care. 


I don’t believe in putting a bandiad on symptoms. My approach is holistic. I look for root causes, patterns, and connections that help your child’s body, mind, and spirit thrive in harmony.


I also believe deeply in the value of evidence-based practice. Medicine should never be guesswork! It should be guided by the best available data, shaped by rigorous research, and refined over time by experts who have dedicated their careers to understanding what truly works. Clinical guidelines exist for a reason: they reflect years of study, patient outcomes, and collective experience, offering a strong foundation for safe and effective care.


At the same time, evidence-based care is not about blindly following protocols. It’s about thoughtfully applying that knowledge to each individual patient, considering their unique biology, lifestyle, values, and preferences. The science gives us direction; the art of medicine is knowing how to tailor that direction to the person in front of us.


My approach is to respect and integrate high-quality evidence while also remaining open, curious, and collaborative. I believe in explaining the “why” behind recommendations, empowering families with knowledge, and making shared decisions that feel both medically sound and personally aligned to the family's or individual's values. I've found the best care happens at the intersection of research, clinical experience, and human connection.

Home visits are available to families living in Palm Beach County. Telehealth services are available to families living in the state of Florida.
